How goes it my fellow fashionistas? If
you're reading this post, I hope life is treating you super fabulous.
So last night those of us who love to ask
"who are you wearing" were in fashion heaven watching the red carpet
for the 2013 Emmy awards. I figured why not write a short post on my top five
favorite dresses from the night with a few runners up and of course my least
favorites as well. After all, it's all about fashion and that's what I love. So
these are the dresses that caught my eye because of their style, color, fit or
all of the above...
Here we go:
#5 - Allison Williams in Ralph Lauren. This strapless dress is beautifully
simple yet elegant. The color is gorgeous and I love the fit of the bodice and the flow and
lines of the skirt.
#4 - Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein. This dress defines what minimal is. However, you cannot ignore that it
is also sleek and very sexy. The
crossed cropped top of the dress gives it that extra umph. The color is very
pretty.
#3 - Tina Fey in Narciso Rodriguez. She looks amazing in this halter dress.
The fit enhances her curves so beautifully and the color again, is gorgeous.
#2 - Zooey Deschanel in J. Mendel. This light blue column dress looks
amazing on her. I love that she chose this color because it plays up her eyes so
well. I adore the style. She looks so elegant.
And my absolute favorite dress of the
night was....
#1 - Kerry Washington in Marchesa! I thought she looked stunning in this
dress. The white with gold embellishment enhances her skin tone. It was
beautiful, romantic and wispy. Well done Ms. Pope!
Runners up in no particular order:
Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang. I just love her and yes, she wears the
same style pretty much to every award show but she's got that body so go on
Sofia! Flaunt it girl!
Kaley Cuoco in Vera Wang. I love the bodice/bustier of this dress
with the sheer panels that give it a sexy look.
Now that I’ve picked my favorites, here
are my least favorite dresses. I'm not going to say "worst dressed"
because that's kind of mean. Everyone does have different tastes so let's not
judge too much. Let’s allow everyone to wear what they like, what they feel
comfortable in and what makes them happy. However, sometimes people do “miss”
in their choices and so that’s where we come in ;)… Surprisingly, there were
only two that did not wow me at all. Here they are:
Zosia Mamet in Honor. The print of the dress is not that bad,
not good but not too bad. What really threw me off was that black and white
piece in the bust area. Why add that? Had it been just the strapless print
dress, it would have been a completely different look.
And my absolutely LEAST favorite dress was
this...
Lena Dunham in Prada. Oh my gosh! Why? Why? Why? I'm sorry but
everything about this is just wrong but hey if she loved it and was happy
wearing it, more power to her.
There you have it my loves. I must say that I was very happy to see a whole lot of bright colors on the carpet this year. You all know my love for color so I was ecstatic to see bright blues, yellows, purples, greens, reds, etc. I hope this trend continues for the remainder of the award shows.
